Business Tax Manager

Job Description

The right candidate will have 8 to 10 years of public accounting experience but will also have strong communications skills, be an influencer, like to coach and mentor, have experience managing others, not afraid to speak in front of a group, and really believe in helping clients achieve their goals. All of this while working in a cloud based paperless environment.

Responsibilities 

  • Review and sign complex business tax returns
  • Identify issues, perform tax research, draw conclusions and document findings in written technical format
  • Perform high level work with existing and new clients by learning their situation and always looking for opportunities within
  • Review correspondence, work papers, financial statements and /or tax projections
  • Identify and resolve problem areas/issues
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in some area or specialty
  • Exhibit strong research skills
  • Master our software (Prosystem Fx, Engagement, Document, PDF flyer, Redtail, Microsoft Office, CCH Document, XCM)

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • Licensed CPA preferred
  • 8 to 10 plus years’ experience preparing and reviewing business income tax returns
  • Strong planning, organizing and managing skills, including team development
  • Comfortable dealing with client’s attorneys, bankers and other third parties along with strong client facing skills
  • Technologically oriented; able to thrive in a paperless environment; adapt to changes in automation using cutting edge software
  • Experience with CCH software is a plus
  • Win cooperation of team members and build a loyal and effective working unit
  • Work with tax team to build their technical skills by giving clear and feedback
  • Always maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the firm and your team members
  • Identify team learning situations or issues and coach the individual on how to improve
  • Demonstrate good coaching skills
  • Communicate concisely and articulately, while being an active listener
  • Set clear priorities for yourself and your team
  • Proficiency using Excel and Adobe

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
